Quote of the Day: Monty Python

So most people probably know the story of King Arthur right? He gets a sword from a lake and becomes king.

Well I always find this quote from Monty Python to be pretty funny.

Dennis the Peasant: Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Arthur: Be quiet!
Dennis: You can’t expect to wield supreme power just ’cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!”
Graham Chapman, Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Book): Mønti Pythøn Ik Den Hølie Gräilen

But, I disagree. If some magical woman that lives in a lake hands me some magic sword, it’s gotta make me king of something. Hell I’d even take king of whatever lake it is.
