Top 10 Tuesday: Writing Prompts

Hello again dear readers. I am coming back with another Top 10 Tuesday, and since this week is a freebie week, this list is about the Top 10 Writing prompts I have found, and oh boy…some of them are good!

Before I begin, I should let you know that Top Ten Tuesday has been hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018.

It was born of a love of lists, a love of books and the desire to bring bookish friends together.

Write your heroes death in the following ways:
1. Peacefully
2. By his worst nightmare
3. Alone
4. Violently

Custom Etymology
Write a story or a scene about someone inventing a new word—or, alternatively, giving an existing word a new meaning.

Unexpected Inking
You are showering one morning when you notice a tattoo on your body that you’re quite sure you don’t remember getting. What is it, how did you get it, and what does it mean?

Unfairy Tales
Write a scene that involves a fairy tale trope turned on its head or otherwise deviating from typical expectations. For example: A princess who’s cruel to her kind stepmother; a golden goose that lays explosive eggs; a big, frightening wolf who really just wants a friend.

The 1%
People thought society would be better if we killed the worst 1% every year. Today is the hundredth anniversary, and the notion of the “worst” is getting really tricky.

Superhuman
Absolutely everything that makes you uncomfortable is beneficial for you. Weakened viruses train your immune system, small muscle tears make you stronger…and small bullets make you more resistant to larger bullets. Turns out, the government is awfully interested in your unusual ability.

Duel of the Century
Separated by an entire continent and almost 100 years, Betty White and Queen Elizabeth finally become aware of each others existence. Realizing two beings with immortality can’t exist, they both agree to a duel. For there can be only one.

Dungeons and Dragons
You never knew that your D&D game corresponded to an actual fantasy world you were affecting with your choices. You were having fun playing a very evil character, but after getting summoned to that world as a hero, you’re faced with the living-breathing consequences of the crimes you committed.

Demon Deal
You just inadvertently summoned a demon. But you don’t want to make a deal with him. Now the demon follows you around trying to get you to make a deal with him.

The White Death
Finland houses a secret weapon in their northern forests, awoken in only the most dire times. The White Death of the Winter War was not a human sniper, but an entity beyond time needing to feed. It is the year 2020, and it has woken again, hungry.
