Wheel of Time Wednesdays: Casting Announcement

Deadline.com announced that Amazon Studios confirmed the roles of Alanna Mosvani and two of her warders, Ihvon and Maksim, have been cast for the upcoming Wheel of Time TV show

Alanna Mosvani will be played by Priyanka Bose.

Maksim will be played by Taylor Napier.

Ihvon will be played by Emmanuel Imani.

Alanna is an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah who has a significant, and sometimes controversial, role in the story. Interestingly, in the books, Alanna has two warders, Ihvon and Owein.  Of those warders, Owein has the lesser role and is only mentioned a few time before dying.  It seems he’s been replaced by a character named Maksim. It’s unknown if these are intended to be the same character, or if Maksim is a replacement for Owein with the intention of having a larger role.

Wheel of Time Wednesdays: Casting Announcement

If you’ve been ignoring my blog for the past few months, then you might not know what this is. If you’ve been keeping tabs on my blog at least somewhat you should know that the first Wednesday of each month, the upcoming Wheel of Time show releases some news on its Twitter account.

This week we’ve already received several casting announcements, and I am beyond excited!

Logain Ablar

For the role of Logain, we have a new cast member: Alvaro Morte, a Spanish actor that recently gained worldwide recognition playing the role of Sergio “El Profesor” Marquina in the Spanish heist series Money Heist.

Loial, son of Arent, son of Halan

In the role of everyone’s favourite Ogier, we have Hammed Animashaun, an actor, known for National Theatre Live: The Threepenny Opera (2016), Black Mirror (2011) and Affected (2011).

Thom Merrilin

A man, a myth, a legend, and a fan favourite. Alexandre Willaume has been cast as Thom Merrilin.

Alexandre is an actor who portrayed Kjartan in a lead role on BBC’s The Last Kingdom.

Padan Fain

Misunderstood, or a villain? Coming in for the role of Padan Fain, we have Johann Myers, an actor and director, known for The Medallion (2003), State of Play (2003) and The Bank Job (2008).

Personally, I am excited for all of these casting announcements. I can imagine each of these actors filling their roles perfectly.

What do you think of the casting announcement? Let’s talk about it in the comments.

Wheel of Time News

For the first Wednesday of every month, The Wheel of Time on Prime Twitter account gives fans an important announcement about the upcoming TV series.

This week we are blessed with another casting announcement for Tam Al’Thor, father of Rand Al’Thor, and downright bad ass in his own right.

Michael McElhatton will be taking up the role, and you may know him as Roose Bolton from Game of Thrones.

I’m excited to see what McElhatton will do with this role, but I do know he will do a hell of a job. He was terrific as Roose Bolton, and a good pick for Tam Al’Thor

Wednesday News: More Wheel of Time Casting Announcement

With the first Wednesday of the month finally here, that means The Wheel of Time TV show is making another announcement.

Today’s announcement was another casting announcement. We already have the Edmond’s Field 5 and Moiraine…and today we got her trusty sidekick and love interest of Nynaeve… al’Lan Mandragoran.

Lan will be played by Daniel Henney, a Korean-American actor known for starring in films such as Seducing Mr. Perfect, My Father, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Shanghai Calling, The Last Stand, and Big Hero 6.

Wednesday News: Wheel of Time Casting Announcement

If you’re a fan of The Wheel of Time series and are excited for the upcoming TV show there’s some pretty big news that just came out.

There’s already been one casting announcement, but probably the biggest announcement (or definitely top 5 casting choices) came out today.

drumroll please……..

The roll of Rand Al’Thor will be going to Josha Stradowski, a 24 year old actor from the Netherlands in previous works such as Just Friends, Caged, I Can Fly, and Sirene.

Literally as I write this there was another announcement for who would play the Role as Perrin. Was not expecting a second announcement, but the lucky one to play Perrin Aybara is Marcus Rutherford, known for his work in Obey and County lines.

With a Rand and Perrin, now cast, Nynaeve comes next, of course? The great Zoe Robins is the lucky lady to be cast as Nynaeve. She’s 26 years old and is known for her work in The New Tomorrow.

Mat, who I think everyone was most excited about, will be played by Barney Harris, who is well known for his roles in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, All Roads Lead to Rome, Sweet Maddie Stone, and Clique.

Anfd of course, the beautiful, the powerful, the hardheaded Egwene Al’Vere is cast as well. Couldn’t complete the Two Rivers 5 without Egwene after all. The role will be played by the absolutely stunning Madeleine Madden, an Australian actress who can be found in plenty of films and TV shows, but most notably the new Dora the Explorer movie.
